The film explores themes of redemption, healing, and the enduring bonds of friendship. Through intense battles and emotional moments, Cloud and his friends strive to protect their world from falling into chaos once again.
Ending Explained
In the conclusion of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children," directed by Tetsuya Nomura and Takeshi Nozue, Cloud Strife confronts the remnants of Sephiroth, specifically Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo, who seek to resurrect Sephiroth using the remains of Jenova. Kadaj successfully merges with Jenova's cells, transforming into Sephiroth. A fierce battle ensues between Cloud and Sephiroth, culminating in Cloud's victory as he defeats Sephiroth, who dissipates, leaving behind a weakened Kadaj.
Following the battle, Kadaj succumbs to his injuries and dissolves, reuniting with his "mother" Jenova. Yazoo and Loz, in a final act of defiance, launch a surprise attack on Cloud, resulting in a massive explosion. Cloud is severely injured but is miraculously healed by Aerith's spirit, who reassures him that he is not alone.
The film concludes with Cloud returning to the church in Midgar, where he finds the children cured of Geostigma, a disease caused by Jenova's cells. The spirits of Aerith and Zack Fair appear, signifying peace and closure. Cloud, now at peace with his past, smiles as he is surrounded by his friends and the children, symbolizing hope and healing for the future.
