Ending Explained
In the climax of David Ayer's "Suicide Squad," the team confronts the Enchantress, who has been wreaking havoc with her brother Incubus. The squad, consisting of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, El Diablo, and Rick Flag, battles through her minions to reach her. El Diablo sacrifices himself to weaken Incubus, allowing Killer Croc and the military to destroy him with a bomb. The Enchantress offers the squad their deepest desires in exchange for their loyalty, but they reject her. Harley Quinn pretends to accept the offer, getting close enough to remove the Enchantress's heart. Rick Flag crushes the heart, killing the Enchantress and freeing June Moone, Flag's love interest, from her possession. In the aftermath, the squad is returned to Belle Reve prison with ten years off their sentences, except for Captain Boomerang. Bruce Wayne, in a mid-credits scene, obtains files on metahumans from Amanda Waller, setting up the formation of the Justice League. The film concludes with the squad back in their cells, hinting at potential future missions.
