Main Plot

Ending Explained

In the climax of Joss Whedon's "The Avengers," the superhero team unites to thwart Loki's plan to conquer Earth. Loki, using the Tesseract, opens a portal above New York City, allowing the Chitauri alien army to invade. The Avengers—comprising Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye—engage in a fierce battle against the invaders.
